A Note from Festival Producer and OUTspoken project director, Jason Blitman
“It’s such a gift to live in a community that celebrates storytelling with such passion and variety. From the Rancho Mirage Writers’ Festival to Pride on the Page, the Palm Springs Readers’ Festival, and now the PS Book Fest, there’s truly something for every kind of reader — and even for those who don’t consider themselves readers at all. Our free Community Day on Sunday, March 29th, is a celebration of that spirit — a reminder that that books and reading can be accessible, joyful, and inclusive and perpetuates OUTspoken's belief that stories are for everyone and everyone has a story.
Every ticket sale supports the free community day for accessible programming as well as exciting soon-to-be announced OUTspoken programming that will happen year-round.
Book sales — featuring both new and gently used titles — will be provided by Hey Books!, a queer-owned Southern California–based bookstore, ensuring that stories are as accessible and affordable as possible for every reader. When I first landed in Southern California and started exploring the amazing bookish community here, Anika and Matthew were each bright spots at some of my favorite indie bookstores. Now they’ve teamed up to create Hey Books!, and it is a fabulous full-circle moment to collaborate with them in this new chapter!”
Three days. One community. Infinite stories.
Join us Friday & Saturday for ticketed events. Sunday is free for all.
